Born and still based in Richmond, Virginia, award winning Susan Adams received her Master of Fine Arts degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Inspired by a summer in Idaho where she learned to make western styled bits and spurs, Susan combines her love of the west, cowboy trappings and twenty years of metal working experience to create her art.
Versatility, skill and meticulous attention to detail allow her to design and produce unique decorative objects, jewelry, hollowware and commissioned projects such as the cowgirl logo for the National Cowgirl Museum. Susan's numerous awards include Best of Show and Best Artist, Metal at the Western Design Conference. Her spurs are featured in the book, Bits and Spurs, Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers, and stories in “Cowboys and Indians” and “American Cowboy” magazines have showcased her talents.
